Basically there is little difference between urine, blood and/or the saliva drug test  They all look for very small concentrations of contaminates, called metabolites, that can be used in determining which specific products have been used, but not exactly when or how much have been used. 

The body naturally stores drug metabolites in the fatty cells and the fast growing cells (hair and nails) in your body. These metabolites leach out into the blood over time and are expelled mostly through the urinary tract.  Hence the popularity of the urine drug test.

Different drug metabolites stay in these cells for different periods of time causing you to fail a drug test many days, weeks or months in the future. The Legal Issues

What To Expect When You Go For Your Urine Drug Test. 

• Laboratory Verified Analysis.  The first type of testing is most often used in the Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Post Incident Drug Testing which are covered in the next section.  After collection the sample is sent to a laboratory for analysis. The primary advantages is accuracy, legal defensibility and the ability to customize screening for a particular demographic group or specific substance use. The disadvantages are typically cost and the delay in receiving results (up to 4 days).

If the specimen-collection facility goes by the book, you'll start by replacing some or all of your street clothing with a hospital-type gowns to reduce the likelihood that you can tamper with your specimen.
